A real suspense, it has a brilliantly elaborated development of plot and a stunning end. The main character so colorful, I cannot but wait for the next meetings with her. And the evil ‘behind the curtain’ is an absolute evil. Five stars!!!!!
Very different writing style. Unusual plot.
Alice is kind of an antihero, she grew up in a rich family, but then her father, a sociopath sent her away to the private boarding school on a mysterious Island. We get to know her the years later when she is 25 and she comes to London to find her father.Five stars for a unique voice and gripping story.
I was absolutely fascinated by this thriller, the personality of the heroine, the mysterious environment where the story is set, the sexyness, the subtle cultural references that add another layer. Not a plain thriller, but with all qualities a good thriller should have. Easy to read.
