Love in Silhouette....What is the difference between a silhouette and a shadow? This is the question presented and wrestled with in T.L. Cooper's follow up volume of poetry, Love in Silhouette. As she travels the avenues and boulevards of the human condition, she explores the sensations of touch, sight, and the aromas of love's jubilations and the darkening grays of a broken heart.
T.L. does not so much as tell the reader what to feel or even describes her past hopes or experiences, but rather brings her readers to the threshold and allows them to explore their own feelings, thoughts, hopes and aspirations through the promptings of craftily created verse. As T.L. guided us through some of the darker valley's of the human heart in her first volume, Reflections in Silhouette, she now lifts us to the heights achieved when loved is both realized and at once submitted to. Join her as she takes you beyond the place of shadows into the realm of the gently defined silhouette.

Love in Silhouette Poems T L Cooper 9780984686209 Books Reviews

After following the poet on her journey over the last year or so, I was delighted to read Love in Silhouette. A collection of the intimate and beautiful verse that expresses the full spectrum of experiencing love, T.L Cooper has captured the raw emotion of love. The tension that exists in our experiences of being in love and of traveling the journey of marriage can be extreme and full of pathos, and T.L. Cooper allows her experiences to find full expression through her staightforward and honest expression. Painfully close to the universal experience; lovingly framed in the most intimate of expressions.
"Love in Silhouette" is a delightfully honest and open-faced collection of poetry that leaves you feeling as though you have peeked in on intimate moments of the author's love life. T.L. Cooper strips away the veil on the deep and sometimes raw emotion that comes from a lifetime of opening one's heart to the possibility of love, and the inevitable hurt and pain that accompany that oft elusive, but ever sought-after bond between two human beings. Readers will relate to many of the poems and find themselves reflecting on their own experiences and perhaps even pouring over old love letters as fond memories of loves past find their way to the present.
Love in Silhouette is a book of poetry by T.L. Cooper that explores love the longing for, the fear of, the hoping for, and, of course, the joyful receipt of this wonderful thing that makes the world go `round. I love this book. One should love a book about love. That's saying a lot considering that I am challenged when it comes to reading poetry. But Cooper's poems are lyrical. Don't be fooled into thinking that this is simply a collection of silly love poems. They pull you in to explore the depths of love and all that goes with it. Broke My Own Heart expresses the regret for a love let go. Love Doesn't Exist dives deeply into what if it didn't. I highly recommend Love in Silhouette by T.L. Cooper with Five Stars.
I've given you a couple of early reactions, but these are better
>reflections, covering the whole collection. I was taken by the power of the
>words and stanzas to project beyond the armor of our veneer. The experience,
>or involvement, was rewarding. The poems provided a communication that
>extended beyond cognitive understanding to emotional understanding. Often
>there were intimate resonances, mutual signals of intimacy so fleeting an
>insensitive person wouldn't have noticed them at all.
>
>I was amazed at the range of emotional expressions covered over the course
>of the collection. Repeated I was shown the importance of reading the
>correct meanings into contemplative silences between partners. Live in
>Silhouette reveals a world that is distinctly and seductively feminine. It
>often seems as if a more eloquent, more fluid expression of your poetic
>emotions has been liberated by your marriage. As regards form, there is an
>impressive alternation of long and short words in concert with long and
>short lines that it inviting and catalyzes the ease on the reader's eyes
>moving over the pages. I came away richer for the experience.
I LOVE this book and would definitely recommend it to friends! Am looking forward to more books like this one.
Every once in a while I'm in the mood for good poetry. Poems where every word adds to the artistry of the work like the stroke of a paint brush over a canvas. I found just what I was looking for with Love in Silhouette. T.L. Cooper's in-depth look at all aspects of this thing called love is so raw, honest, and truthful that at times the reader feels almost voyeuristic gazing in at the emotions that Cooper depicts so well. A few favorite poems of mine were "As If," a play on words shows us how important it is to think before we react to those we love, "Fingers," this poem flirts with eroticism with just enough emphasis to bring a blush to my cheeks, and "Nice Guys Don't Like Me," a moving piece that shows the effects of abuse on a person's sense of self-worth and their ability to allow themselves to be loved. While these were favorites of mine, there were many other notable passages as well. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys quality poetry!
